Step to Upgrade or Downgrade your Sapphire Android

Warning…..this is only for Sapphire or HTC Magic device only

Upgrade your Radio

First of all,you download following files

- The 1.76.2007 SPL HBOOT image
http://www.theandroidkitchen.com/fil…-1.76.2007.img
- The 6.35.10.18 Radio Image
http://www.theandroidkitchen.com/fil…6.35.10.18.img
- The Amon_RA Hero Recovery (Latest version is 1.5.2 as of this post)

Then do following steps

fastboot flash radio Radio_HTC_PVT_32A_6.35.10.18.img
fastboot flash hboot hboot-1.76.2007.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-hero-v1.5.2.img
fastboot erase system -w
fastboot reboot-bootloader

Downgrade your radio

Download following files

- 1.33.2010 Engineering SPL HBOOT image
http://www.theandroidkitchen.com/fil…-1.33.2010.img
- 3.22.20.17 Radio image
http://www.theandroidkitchen.com/fil…3.22.20.17.img
- Amon_RA Sapphire H Recovery (Latest is 1.5.2 as of this post)

Then do following steps

fastboot flash radio Radio_HTC_PVT_32A_3.22.20.17.img
fastboot flash hboot hboot-1.33.2010.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.5.2H.img
fastboot erase system -w
fastboot reboot-bootloader

Magic Tips & Tricks – Check H/W SPL, Type

Check your hardware specification

  • Turn off your device, by long press disconnect or shutdown button
  • Press disconnect / shutdown button along with back button
  • wait for few seconds
  • There will be 3 androids playing skateboard

According toWikipedia, there are 2 types of Magic,

  • PVT32A handsets have 288MB total RAM (192MB usable by OS – same as Hero handsets) and use the Qualcomm MSM7200A CPU
  • PVT32B handsets have 192MB total RAM (96MB usable by OS) and use the Qualcomm MSM7201A CPU

HTC Magic

Recently, I just bought new handset for myself hehehehe….and it’s HTC Magic. Yeah…is Android based Operating System. New Boys in town. It will compete with Iphone (Iphone OS), Windows Mobile, and Blackberry….

Why I choose this ? Hmm….hard to tell, but one thing for sure almost all the apps in the Android market is free, and Open source. Yihaaa…currently, I’m interested in K9 Mail for Android Apps in Google Code. It’s free and Open :D
